2. What the Service does
StrangerChat connects users at random for one-on-one text or video conversations. There's no registration — a random username is generated for you each session, and any interests, gender, and age you provide are used only to help with matching and moderation, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Acceptable use
By using StrangerChat you agree to follow our Community Rules, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Without limiting those rules, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten, or exploit another person.
- Attempt to access, scrape, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure beyond normal use.
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to interact with other users.
- Circumvent bans, age restrictions, or moderation systems.
- Record, capture, or redistribute another user's video or messages without their consent.
4. Moderation and enforcement
We use a combination of automated systems and human moderators to enforce our Community Rules. We may remove content, end chats, suspend, or permanently ban any user for violating these Terms or our Community Rules, at our discretion, with or without notice.
5. No accounts, no guaranteed availability
Because the Service doesn't use persistent accounts, session data (your generated username, chosen interests, and similar details) is stored only for the duration of your session and isn't recoverable afterward. We don't guarantee the Service will always be available, error-free, or that you'll be matched within any particular time.
6. Content and conduct of other users
StrangerChat connects you with other individuals, and we don't control what they say or do. You're solely responsible for your own interactions, and we're not responsible for the conduct — online or offline — of any user you're matched with. Use the report and skip functions if a chat violates our rules.
7. Intellectual property
The StrangerChat name, logo, and site design are owned by StrangerChat and may not be copied or used without permission. You retain rights to messages and video you send, but grant us the limited technical rights necessary to transmit them to the person you're chatting with in real time.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or free of errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StrangerChat and its operators won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or from the conduct of any user you interact with, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which StrangerChat operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local law requires otherwise.
