StrangerChat only works if the people using it treat each other decently. These rules apply to every chat, every mode (text and video), and every user, with no exceptions. Breaking them can get a chat ended, and repeated or serious violations lead to a ban.
1. You must be 18 or older
StrangerChat is an 18+ platform. You confirm your age before every chat, and misrepresenting your age to access the site is itself a violation of these rules, separate from anything that happens in a chat.
2. Zero tolerance for content involving minors
Any sexual content, request, or conduct involving or appearing to involve a minor is banned outright, reported to the appropriate authorities where required by law, and results in an immediate, permanent ban with no warning.
3. No harassment, hate, or threats
- No slurs, hate speech, or content that attacks someone based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
- No threats of violence or self-harm directed at another user.
- No sustained harassment, doxxing, or attempts to track down another user's real identity.
4. No illegal content or activity
This includes, but isn't limited to, sharing or soliciting non-consensual intimate imagery, promoting or arranging illegal transactions, and any other activity that's illegal where you or the person you're chatting with are located.
5. Video chat specific rules
- No nudity or sexual acts on camera.
- No recording, screenshotting, or streaming another user without their explicit consent.
- No showing content off-camera that violates these rules just because it's not "in" the video feed — the same rules apply to whatever's visible or audible.
6. No spam, scams, or advertising
Don't use StrangerChat to advertise another product or service, run bots, farm traffic, phish for personal or financial information, or repeatedly send links or promotional messages.
7. Don't share other people's personal information
Don't post or request another user's real name, address, phone number, financial details, or other identifying information without their consent — including your own, since usernames are randomized specifically so nobody has to share this.
8. Reporting
Every chat has a report button next to the chat controls. Use it any time someone breaks these rules — reports are reviewed by a mix of automated systems and human moderators. You can also skip or end a chat at any point without needing a reason.
9. Enforcement
Violations can lead to a chat being ended automatically, a temporary suspension, or a permanent ban depending on severity and history. We don't publish the exact detection mechanics we use to prevent people from working around them, but decisions can be appealed by contacting us through the details below.
10. Questions or appeals
If you think a ban or moderation action was made in error, or you want to report something you didn't get a chance to flag in the moment, reach out via the contact details in our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
